High School Placement Test (HSPT)

The Archdiocese of Newark has opted to now use the High School Placement Test (HSPT) to assist with student selection, placement, and scholarships.

The COOP will no longer be administered.

HSPT PREPARATION COURSE at St. Joseph Regional High School August 21 – August 30 (Weekdays)

All sessions run from 9:00 am–11:15 am (except on August 25  when a practice test will be administered from 9:00 am-noon)

This is an opportunity for students taking the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on November 10, 2017, required for entrance into the Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Newark, to prepare for the exam. The course provides an intensive review of mathematics, reading, language arts skills, instruction in quantitative and verbal reasoning, and general test taking strategies.  In addition, a full length practice test will be administered at the midpoint of the course. The practice test will be scored and feedback will be provided to each individual student.

The course will be taught by Mr. Joseph Kievit, a faculty member at St. Joseph Regional High School. Mr. Kievit teaches the SAT and ACT prep courses at SJR and has over sixteen years experience in preparing middle school and high school students for standardized tests in mathematics, reading, and language arts. (Mr. Kievit was previously a Center Director with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions).

The fee for the program is $375 per student and covers all course materials. Enrollment is limited to the first 20 students that register. The registration deadline is Friday, August 11, 2017.

Please complete the enrollment form below, enclose a check for the program fee of $375 made payable to Joseph Kievit, and submit to the St. Joseph Regional High School Main Office by no later than Friday, August 11, 2017.
