Media & Publications
Through its four media clubs, Saint Joseph Regional guides students to become vigilant, creative, and ethical observers of school life.

In the past ten years, the Aegis yearbook has won 1st Place awards from the American Scholastic Press Association and other accolades from the Garden State and Columbia Scholastic Press Associations. The full-color, 9x12 book includes student features, in-depth coverage of sports seasons and events, and original artwork. Editors and staff members of this club become proficient in the latest Adobe Photoshop and InDesign technology.

The Guardian newspaper, published bi-monthly, includes interviews, features on school events and activities, reviews of literature, films and games, and other editorial content. Through routine meetings and workshops, staff members learn the finer points of journalism and layout.

Some of the best pieces of writing from both publications are reproduced in the Knightlines Alumni Newsmagazine, an opportunity for students to reach an audience of more than 6,000 SJR graduates and gain clips for college.

At WSJR, the school’s closed-circuit television station, students broadcast daily news and announcements to the school community. Through partnerships with Sony and MSG Varsity Network, the program has continued to grow technologically each year.

Students with an interest in photography work across all three media clubs. Most recently, notoriety for student photographers has included a third place award from Seton Hall University's “Images of God in Family Life” photo contest, and publication in area newspapers.
