Honor Societies at St. Joseph Regional High School
St. Joseph Regional High School proudly recognizes exceptional students through membership in prestigious honor societies. These organizations celebrate academic excellence, leadership, service, and character, while offering opportunities for growth and contribution to our school community.
The Theodore James Ryken Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Minimum GPA: Weighted cumulative GPA of 93.0.
- Comprehensive Review: Candidates are evaluated by administrators and select faculty on:
- Community Service
- Service to the School
- Leadership
- Character
Membership Expectations:
- NHS members are leaders within the school community.
- They provide service in various ways, including tutoring underclassmen and supporting school initiatives.
The Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus Chapter of the Spanish Honor Society
Eligibility Requirements:
- Academic Excellence:
- Cumulative GPA of 90.0 or higher in Spanish through two years of study.
- Must be enrolled in a third year of Spanish studies.
- Character Standards:
- Demonstrated integrity, scholarship, and cooperation throughout their time at SJR.
Membership Benefits:
- Recognition of linguistic achievement and a deeper engagement with Spanish language and culture.
The Tri-M Music Honor Society
Eligibility Requirements:
- Academic and Musical Excellence:
- Cumulative academic GPA of 85.0 or higher.
- Junior or senior standing.
- Commitment to Music:
- A strong, multi-year dedication to SJR’s music program, demonstrated by consistent attendance at practices and rehearsals.
- Significant contributions to the SJR music and theatre programs.
Membership Expectations:
- Members are expected to exemplify character, leadership, integrity, and honor, serving as role models in the arts community.
