Chromebook Help & Support

If your Chromebook is damaged or not working, follow these steps to get it repaired quickly and efficiently.

What to Do

  1. Bring the Chromebook to the Media Center.
    • The tech team will assess the issue to determine:
      • Manufacturer’s defect
      • Accidental damage (covered by insurance)
      • In-house repair or if it needs to be sent to the Repair Depot
      • Intentional damage

Accidental vs. Intentional Damage

Accidental Damage

  • Covered by insurance with a $25 repair fee (payable upfront).

Intentional Damage or Loss

  • Not covered by insurance.
  • Students must purchase a replacement Chromebook from SJR for $600.
  • Intentional acts may result in disciplinary action.

Examples of Intentional Damage:

  • Purposeful destruction or misuse of the Chromebook.

Repair Process & Timeline

  1. Pay the $25 repair fee (cash, check, or credit) before a claim is filed.
  2. A claim is filed with Worth Group, and a FedEx label is sent via email.
  3. The Chromebook is shipped to the Repair Depot in Stillwater, OK.
  4. Repairs typically take 7-10 business days (delays possible due to supply chain issues).
  5. Upon return, the device is:
    • Inspected by SJR staff.
    • Re-enrolled in school software if needed.
    • Ready for pick-up.

Important: Claims will not be filed, and Loaners will not be issued until the $25 fee is paid.

    • Allow a cold Chromebook to warm up before powering it on.
  3. Chromebooks Are School Tools
