Tuition & Fees

Tuition for the 2024-2025 academic year is $18,200 and is paid over ten months, beginning in July and ending in April. Payments are made through the FACTS Tuition Management Plan, an automatic payment plan using your checking or statement savings account. Authorization of your financial institution is necessary in order to make automatic monthly payments to FACTS on a designated day each month.  For a fee, FACTS payments may also be made via credit card.

The Archdiocese of Newark awards educational grants to selected students on the basis of financial need through a program called “The Scholarship Fund for Inner City Children”. Interested families need to submit their financial aid applications by April 30, 2024. Information and instructions may be found at SFICNJ.org.

The Tri-County Scholarship Fund provides assistance to New Jersey students in Morris, Passaic, and Sussex counties based solely on financial need. The application deadline is February 15, 2024.  Information and instructions may be found at www.tcsfund.org.

The Columbus Citizens Foundation (CCF) provides scholarships to incoming freshman who have Italian heritage of at least 25% and whose GPA is 3.5 or higher. Yes. St. Joseph Regional High School provides a limited amount of financial assistance to students who demonstrate serious financial need. Such grants are offered in the form of tuition discounts and do not require repayment. Families may apply online by visiting SJR’s FACTS Information Page under the Admissions tab (for incoming freshman applicants, this application opens in late August/early September). Under no circumstances will the school extend financial assistance to a student whose family has not completed a financial aid application.

Applications for returning families (Classes of 2025, 2026 and 2027) must be submitted by April 1, 2024, using 2023 tax information. Applications for incoming freshman families must be submitted by December 4, 2024, using 2023 tax information. Families must submit a new application to FACTS each year.

SJR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REQUEST COURT ORDERS, DIVORCE DECREES, EVIDENCE OF SEPARATE HOUSEHOLDS AND/OR OTHER DOCUMENTATION FOR FAMILIES WHOSE APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL AID REFLECTS A FILING STATUS OF DIVORCED, SINGLE, OR SEPARATED.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE COACHES, FACULTY, OR STAFF MEMBERS INVOLVED IN THE FINANCIAL AID PROCESS. 

The only alternative to using the FACTS system is payment in full (due by July 1st.) If choosing this option, families are entitled to a $300 tuition discount, provided they are not receiving any other form of tuition reduction (scholarship or financial aid).

Saint Joseph Regional High School offers academic scholarships to top incoming freshmen. These scholarships are in the form of partial tuition awards. 

The Admissions Committee considers middle school grades, standardized test scores (HSPT, COOP, etc...) and comments about a student’s school conduct and effort in determining academic scholarships. All academic scholarships are renewable from year to year, provided the student continues to achieve superior grades and demonstrates exemplary conduct at St. Joseph Regional.

Special scholarship applications are available annually to incoming freshmen who meet eligibility requirements. The scholarship opportunities listed below are awarded on the basis of both need and merit. Academic records and test scores, letters of recommendation and other material from the student’s application assist in identifying students whose accomplishments warrant consideration for these scholarships. In order to be considered for any/all of the scholarships listed below, you must submit your financial aid application no later than December 4, 2024. (Admission applications for incoming freshmen open in late August/early September.)

• The SJR Alumni Scholarship Grant - the recipient must demonstrate serious financial need, the highest level of academic achievement, and evidence of exceptional character. The selection is made by a committee of alumni.

• The Michael G. Bertolino Memorial Scholarship - the recipient must demonstrate both financial need and the potential for academic excellence. He must also be of exemplary character and have a strong interest in school activity participation. The scholarship was created by the Bertolino family, in memory of their son and brother, Michael, a graduate of the Class of 1996.

• The Robert J. Dinallo Memorial Scholarship - this award is presented to students whose families have serious financial need, excel academically, have a strong interest in school activity participation, and give evidence of maturity and good character. It is presented in memory of Robert J. Dinallo, a deceased member of the Class of 1981. The selection is made by a committee representing the Dinallo family.

• The Giordano Scholarship - The Giordano Scholarship is an annual award donated by Stephen Giordano '94, and Dr. Stephen Giordano (P '94 and '06) and will recognize 8th grade applicants who display a high level of character and academic profile. The Giordano scholarship will recognize students who also display the qualities of a St. Joseph Regional Green Knight. A young man who will contribute to the SJR community and will Think critically, Lead ethically and Serve generously.

• The Lawrence-Prober Arts Scholarship Grant - presented to one or more incoming freshmen who demonstrate financial need and exceptional talent in the area of performing arts. It is anticipated that the recipients involve themselves in the St. Joseph Regional High School Performing Arts Program, especially the theater program, chorus and/or band. The scholarship will be awarded taking the following criteria into consideration: application essay, letters of recommendation, taped audition, financial need.  

• When siblings attend St. Joseph during the same academic year, the family will receive a $1,000 Sibling Grant.
• Students whose parent(s) teach in the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Newark will receive a $1,000 Catholic School Grant.
• Students whose father is an alumnus of Saint Joseph Regional High School will receive a $1,000 Alumni Grant.
