This is an opportunity for students of St. Joseph Regional High School and other area high schools to take a six week SAT Prep Course designed for those planning to sit for the SAT on March 14 and/or May 2. The SAT is used by many colleges to determine students’ admissions and scholarship qualifications. The test prioritizes content that reflects the kind of reading, writing, and math that students will encounter in college and in their future work lives. The key for any student to maximize his or her score is preparation and practice. The program schedule (below) is intensive. The course content will include a review of critical reading approaches, usage and grammar conventions, a comprehensive review of all math concepts that appear on the test, and an overview of the essay requirements. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of strategic approaches to problem solving and answering questions. These are the same strategies taught by the major test-prep companies.
