HSPT PREPARATION COURSE
at St. Joseph Regional High School
Weekdays: Monday, August 17 – Wednesday, August 26
All sessions run from 9:00 am – 11:15 am (except on August 25 when a practice test will be administered from 9:00 am-noon)
This is an opportunity for students taking the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on November 6, 2020, required for entrance into the Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Newark, to prepare for the exam. The course provides an intensive review of mathematics, reading, language arts skills, instruction in quantitative and verbal reasoning, and general test taking strategies.
In addition, a full length practice test will be administered after the first week of the course. The practice test will be scored and feedback will be provided to each individual student.
The course will be taught by Mr. Joseph Kievit, a faculty member at St. Joseph Regional High School. Mr. Kievit is Chairman of the Mathematics Department, and teaches the SAT and ACT prep courses at SJR. He has over eighteen years of experience in preparing middle school and high school students for standardized tests in mathematics, reading, and language arts. This will be the sixth year that he has offered the HSPT/ COOP course. (Mr. Kievit was previously a Center Director with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions).
The fee for the program is $395 per student and covers all course materials.
The registration deadline is Friday, August 7, 2020
Please complete the enrollment form below, enclose a check for the program fee of $395 made payable to Joseph Kievit, and submit to the St. Joseph Regional High School Main Office by no later than Friday, August 7, 2020.
