The entire SJR community is invited to celebrate the legacy of Barry Donnelly '71 as he enjoys his retirement after 43 years of service to our school. Donnelly officially began his tenure at SJR as a student in 1967 as a freshman and, but for a four-year hiatus as an undergrad at Boston College, spent most of the next 50 years in the halls of Saint Joseph Regional High School. During that time, Donnelly taught English to countless Green Knights while serving as a moderator, coach, administrator, principal and, ultimately, as the school's first president.
On Sat, Nov. 9, the community will gather to honor the past and to lay the groundwork for the Donnelly Scholarship Program. All proceeds from the reception will go toward the creation of the Donnelly Scholars program, an initiative to foster the academic growth of SJR top incoming students.
The gala reception, to be held at the Park Ridge Marriott, will feature a silent and live auction in addition to musical performances and, of course, a proper send-off for President Donnelly.
