SJR Adds 4 to Faculty/Staff

Saint Joseph Regional High School is pleased to welcome four new members to the faculty and staff for the 2021-2022 school year.

"We are thrilled to welcome such a talented and diverse group of educators to our faculty, and look forward to them making an immediate impact on the quality of our offerings," said President Kevin McNulty '78.

The Green Knights welcome Mr. Tony Karcich back to the Advancement Office as Special Assistant to the President. Karcich will focus his efforts on fundraising for capital projects, notably the emergency replacement of the turf field that bears his name. Karcich Field was destroyed by arson last month.

In addition, Principal Michael Bruno '05 announced the hire of Mr. Scott Becker as the Director of Campus Ministry. Becker earned his B.A. in theology from Saint Vincent College before enrolling in the prestigious McGrath Institute Echo Program at the University of Notre Dame, where he completed his M.A. in theology. Becker will also teach several sections of theology.

With a growing enrollment, SJR added two more full-time members to the teaching faculty in Ms. Daniela DeMeglio (mathematics) and Mr. Jack Gilroy (social studies).

DeMeglio has spent the past several years teaching in the New York City public school system. She received her B.S. in mathematics from Wagner College and an M.S. in math education from Columbia University.

Gilroy, a recent graduate of St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, majored in social studies and secondary education. The former Nanuet High School hoopster also served as team manager for the Hawks basketball team. He is slated to teach both World and U.S. History.

On the new additions, Bruno said, "I am excited to welcome such an energetic group to join our already stellar faculty.  They will all work towards advancing our mission to develop students to think, lead, and serve."
