Student of the Week: James Titolo '22

Senior James Titolo is a man with a plan. He is off to Boston College next year, committing via early decision this week. The good news arrived just after Titolo had trekked up to Esopus as a student leader for the sophomore retreat.

He also earned the Army ROTC Scholarship, which will foot the bill for his continuing education. As if that weren't enough, Titolo plans to spread the scholarship out to assist with graduate school. Over the next 12 or so years, he plans to attend BC, complete dental school, fulfill in military obligation and begin work in the field.

The Highland Falls native leads a trio of Titolo brothers (Leone '23 and Massimo '24) who regularly find themselves on the Principal's List. The elder is an AP Scholar and cites AP Psychology as his favorite class because it's "very interesting and it feels like college."

Outside the classroom, he serves as a Knight Ambassador, a member of UNICO and running the 200m and 400m for the winter track team.

Titolo also has a special relationship with ESOPUS as a member of the Marist Youth Club, he has spent numerous weekends on retreat - both as a leader and a participant. This past summer, he volunteered a week of his time at a camp for developmentally disabled adults at Esopus. "Because of Covid-19, I couldn't do it two years ago, but now I definitely want to go back, even after I leave St. Joe's."
