On Thursday, April 28, Saint Joseph Regional welcomed to campus more than a dozen alumni and a trio of women for its annual Career Day program for upperclassmen.
After a two-year in-person hiatus, students were able to share time with business leaders, actors, real estate managers, engineers and others in an intimate classroom setting.
The morning began with a keynote address from Karl Kilb ‘82, an entrepreneur and corporate lawyer who spent 15 years as General Counsel at Bloomberg LP. The Manhattan native spoke of his various experiences in business in addition to doling out advice and answering questions from the assembled students.
After Kilb’s presentation, the students had a chance to attend two breakout sessions of their choosing. In the classroom, they had a chance to ask questions, hear personal stories and learn more about potential future careers.
“We enjoyed speaking with the kids and seeing their enthusiasm for real estate investment and building wealth. What a great group!,” said Sarah Drennan and Katy Smiechowski ‘22 of Terrie O’Connor Real Estate.
While the event took place in-person for the first time since 2019, a pair of presenters joined remotely. Michael McDonnell '82, the Executive Vice President and CFO of Biogen, joined via Microsoft Teams from his office in Cambridge, MA, while actor Bill Timoney '76 spoke to the students from his home on the Jersey Shore.
