144 Green Knights Sleep Out for Homeless Teens

On Thu, Oct. 6, 144 SJR students “gave up their beds for a night so others don’t have to” by sleeping out for Covenant House. The Green Knights began the night at 9:00 p.m. with a presentation in the theater before breaking into small groups to hear specific stories from Covenant House residents.

After a quick snack at 11:30, all twelve dozen ventured to the courtyard to fend for the best spot, armed with a moving box and a trash bag (and whatever supplies they brought along on their backs).

By 6:00 a.m., there was movement once again as the early risers met the morning sun. By 7:00, breakfast was being served by volunteer parents while the students cleaned up the courtyard. And when the bell struck 8:05, it was off to first period on Friday!
