Student of the Week: Stanley Labady '23

Stanley Labady '23 wanted to study psychology in college BEFORE taking Mr. Stoto's class this year. So perhaps it's not surprising that it is his favorite.

"In terms of ranking, I'd say Mr. Stoto's psychology is my favorite. Then Sports & Lit with Mr. Purcella," explains the senior from Livingston.

While he wants to become a psychologist ("I understand people and have empathy."), he also loves to draw and to read. In fact, Labady managed to read 10 books this summer while balancing pre-season for SJR football.

"Lots of thrillers....I got two from Barnes & Noble, then ordered two more and then it got expensive so I started going to the library in town."

He cites NY Times bestseller Ugly Love as his favorite summer read.

Outside the classroom, Labady is a linebacker for the Green Knights and plays middle for lacrosse. In fact, he plans to play lacrosse in college at Southern New Hampshire University.

A gregarious personality with an ever-present smile, Labady enjoyed joining his lax teammates on the Tunnel to Towers walk in September in New York City, honoring military and first responders.

"It was a nice experience to see everyone come together and humbly to see how much it all meant to everyone there."

Nominated by Mr. Stoto.
