Green Knights Excel at Six Flags "Physics Day 2023"

On April 27, SJR students joined hundreds of others from around the state for Six Flags annual "Physics Day" in Jackson.

Students traveled by bus to the theme park having spent the week learning about the mechanics of roller coasters and other thrill rides via a Six Flags workbook.

At the park, they used an app to track data collection and analysis. The app Physics Toolbox has a rollercoaster mode built in, and phyphox can create an experiment by combining the altitude and accelerometer sensors.

All the while, the Green Knights got to enjoy an exclusive day at the park, riding the coasters with friends and faculty.

Rain held off for much of the day allowing for a full experience and some great photos! Special thanks to Mr. Robert Winston for coordinating the efforts.
