Bright Star

Building on a tradition of high school theater that has raised the bar of professionalism in our area, Saint Joseph Regional High School's award-winning performing arts program is about to take a big step forward. This year's school musical, Bright Star, will make the first high school production of the Broadway show in the country.
  • The musical, co-written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, will feature on-stage country blue grass music
  • 6 of the 9 members of the band played the show on Broadway during its 2016 run at the Cort Theatre
  • NEW Director/Choreographer Eric Sciotto is a veteran performer in 12 Broadway shows, most recently as Shakespeare in Something Rotten

"You can understand why I am so excited to invite you to this year's musical," said John Asselta, SJR's Director of the Performing Arts. "After its run on Broadway in 2016, the show receive five Tony Award nominations including Best Musical."
