Academic Summer Experiences
*Designed for incoming Freshman (Class of 2025)
COURSE OVERVIEW: The English course is a concentrated review of reading comprehension, vocabulary, and study skills. The Mathematics course is not a course in Algebra, but rather, a Pre-Algebra review of the fundamental concepts needed for success in Algebra.
SUMMER SESSION DATES: MONDAY, JUNE 28– FRIDAY, JULY 16 (no session on Monday, July 5)
TIME: The English class will begin at 8:00 am and finish at 10:15; the Mathematics course begins at 10:15 and ends at 12:30 pm.
COST: The cost of the program is $390.00 for both sessions (single-session registration is not available). Tuition payment is due with registration.
ATTENDANCE: Since classes are in session for only 14 days, prompt and regular attendance is mandatory.
DRESS: Typically, students will wear shorts (cargo- or khaki-type, not gym-type, with socks and sneakers) and a collared polo shirt. Jeans, t-shirts, work boots, sandals or flip-flops are not permitted. Uniform shirts are not required.
TRANSPORTATION: Busing is not available in the summer. Students must provide their own transportation.
REPORT CARDS: Report cards will be issued on Friday, July 2, July 9, and July 16.
Saint Joseph Regional’s Knight Vision Summer Experience will provide rising 8th graders with a hands-on introduction to life as a SJR student. Campers will experience many aspects of the St. Joe’s experience in a fun, relaxed environment.
Students will learn to code, prepare for college preparatory Math and English Courses, perform Science lab work and workout with the Green Knight’s varsity athletic coaches.
The Knight Vision camp is an opportunity to learn while having fun, as they begin to prepare for high school.
The Knight Vision camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 am -2:30 pm. Students can be dropped off at SJR as early as 8:00 am are required to bring lunch and drinks each day.
Thursday, June 24 will feature a rafting trip and will require a 4:00 pm pick up.
The Knight Vision camp will conclude on Friday, June 25 with mass and lunch at noon which all parents are invited to attend.
