About Student Council
The Student Government plans and runs events throughout the year, including the Freshman Field Day, Halloween Costume contest, Ugly Christmas Sweater contest, annual Lowerclassman Semi-Formal, Senior Prom, Junior Prom, fall socials, dress down days, SJR Spirit Week and SJR Pride Week activities, and other fundraisers.
Each year, students have an opportunity to represent their peers through a democratic election process. Student officers prepare speeches and address their classmates, the voters. Every Monday, the student representatives from all four class levels meet routinely to plan events and develop a representative voice within the school community.
