On March 22nd the three senior St Joe’s Stars sang at a Night of FUTURE Broadway Stars a benefit for Covenant House. Besides the event raising over $50,000 for Covenant House, the St Joe’s Boys stole the show with this beautiful song from “Sweeney Todd” arranged by St. Joe’s Alumni Brian Walters. In addition, Chris Cheeseman was the top fundraiser raising over $3,500 for the homeless teens of Covenant House. Watch, enjoy and be proud of the St. Joe’s Performing Arts Program.

The best-selling book by Judith Guest, which was later made into the movie that won the Academy Award for Best Picture, will be performed by boys from St. Joe’s and girls from various high schools throughout Bergen County. Ordinary People is a 1980 American drama that concerns the disintegration of an upper-middle class family in Lake Forest, Illinois, following the death of one of their sons in a boating accident. The story deals with family conflict, survivor guilt, suicide and the healing power of therapy. Many have attributed the acceptance of family therapy by mainstream Americans to the popularity of this movie.
