SJR Clubs and Activities

Come be part of this exciting club. The Acapella group will sing vocal music without any instrumental accompaniment. This club will perform at SJR events throughout the year.

The yearbook staff will produce the 2026 edition of the Aegis yearbook. Students are needed to photograph school activities, write about them, place and caption photos and generally edit the pages of this year's book. Much of the work can be done on the computer at home using Yearbook Avenue though there will be weekly meetings to check on progress. Most of the work is done from November through mid-April. 

All instrumentalists are invited to attend. Performances include the Christmas Concert and assembly, Spring Cabaret Knight and other functions throughout the year.

This new club will discuss readings and teachings from the Bible with the overall goal of spreading the good word of the Lord around the SJR community.

Games provided or bring your own! Old and new favorites and spirited game play. All welcome!

The Business & Stock Market Club prepares students for success in the business world by offering real-world experiences. Members participate in workshops, hear from accomplished guest speakers, and gain hands-on knowledge about entrepreneurship. leadership, finance, stocks and bonds, retirement planning, investing, and budgeting and marketing. Understand how all this relates to the economy in a fun and informative environment. The club provides skills and insights that students can carry into college and their future careers. 

The Cars on Campus Club will allow students to discuss, learn about, and interact with classic and exotic cars. Meetings will be once a month and typically feature a special guest/topic/vehicle. The Club will also help plan the annual Cars on Campus at SJR in April, promoting the show and staffing the event. Meetings will be hosted by Mr. Jeff Kurtz P ‘22, ‘23.

The chorus performs at school Masses and at the December holiday concert and the end of year Cabaret Knight. You need not to have sung in middle school or elementary chorus to attend. All are welcome!! 

Students will take part in competitive theater affiliated with The Speech and Theatre Association of New Jersey.

Informal games are played daily before and after school. Students may decide to formally meet as a group after school. 

Students will learn to read and follow recipes along with cooking and baking practices in the SJR kitchen and cafeteria. Mr. McMahon, this year's moderator, has experience working in commercial and restaurant kitchens.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

Come and discuss issues of social and moral concern in an informal setting while eating DONUTS(!).

The Green Knights Ambassadors serve in a variety of capacities within the SJR community including giving tours to prospective families and hosting prospective students as part of our Knight for a Day program. These students are considered the "best of the best" at St. Joe's as they volunteer their time at many SJR functions (Open House, Accepted Students Knight, Registration day, and more). In addition, many Ambassadors serve as Big Brothers to incoming Freshman. 

 The Health and Fitness Club will discuss topics related to nutrition and fitness including different types of diets and physical training correlated to it. We will watch videos, discuss fitness, and exercise techniques. We will dive into some of the controversial issues in the fitness community with the goal of understanding what is scientifically verifiable information. The goal is to foster a lifestyle of health and strength. We will analyze the science of nutrition and fitness. By doing so, we will identify the pros and cons of the fitness world. 

Open daily, the innovation lab explores 3-D printing and other digital technology in the media center. The club works on projects throughout the school year.

Performing Arts version of the National Honor Society. Students are selected by the Performing Arts Directors.

All students/All levels welcome!

The group will be exposed to Italian Film, Cooking, Traditions and possible field trips.

The main goal of the Ecology Club is to raise awareness of global environmental isses, interact with the the SJR community through various activities, maintain the outdoor classroom/native habitat, go on nature hikes, and plan Earth week activities in the spring. 

The purpose of the Media Club is to share insight and knowledge of the Broadcast/Journalism/Social Media industry with interested SJR students. Students will have the opportunity to cover many SJR events and provide content for the website, soc Media Club - Meets weekly on Tuesdays at 2:00 in the Media Center. Moderator: Mr. R. Asselta (asseltar@sjrnj.org) ial media channels, and the SJR marketing campaigns. We will review recent content, discuss best journalistic practices, broadcast technique, and editing. Occational guest speakers from the media industry will talk with students and provide advice regarding media related topics. Students interested in writing, broadcasting, photography, editing, and social media are welcome.

Students in the Mock Trial Club prepare to try a fictitious case in a real Court of Law.  Members learn about the judicial system and practice critical thinking, public speaking, and improvisation skills by taking on the roles of lawyers and witnesses.  Schools compete against each other in a tournament each winter!

Come play basketball, spikeball and cornhole in the gymnasium after school with your brothers. Fun is the name of the game for this club.

Take part in America's hottest new sport. The pickleball club meets out on the tennis courts and will play each week, depending on weather. No equipment is needed.

Come and carve up Mountain Creek Ski Resort on a snowboard or skis on one or all three of the school's trips. 

Spanish club at SJR enables students to learn about the Spanish language, culture, and history outside the classroom. The goal is to foster students' love of the Spanish language and introduce them to different aspects of the Hispanic culture through food, arts, and entertainment. 

This club meets monthly. You will learn to set up sound for masses, lectures, and productions.

SJR's student government. Officers and Senators are elected by the student body. Class Representatives are not elected. Student Council runs the proms, monthly fundraisers, special events, and offer policy changes to the school's administration. All students are welcome to each weekly meeting. 

The Guardian is a student run paper with articles about current events, school activities, entertainment, student life, and sports. 

Founded in 1922 to unite people of Italian heritage in an organization to perform charitable, patriotic and educational deeds. UNICO’s motto is “Service Above Self”. UNICO means “unique” or “only one of its kind” in Italian and additionally, the letters represent: U-Unity, N-Neighborliness, I-Integrity, C-Charity and O-Opportunity. We will be conducting Monthly Social Outreach and of course playing on our Bocce ball court! Any student with an Italian link is eligible to join

Club geared towards community service giving students a chance to live out the Vir Fidelis by giving back to the community, Students are awarded service hours through these initiatives in conjunction with the SJR Campus Ministry department.

Take part in a growing sport at SJR. Currently a club, the hope is to turn volleyball into a varsity sports at SJR as participation increases.
