A Night to Remember: "Welcome Home Night" for Les Misérables

On February 2, the St. Joseph Regional High School Theater Arts program celebrated a landmark event during the performance of its recent production of Les Misérables. "Welcome Home Night" brought together alumni, friends, and cast members from the 2004 and 2011 productions, creating a powerful moment in SJR’s theater history.

Reunion and Nostalgia

The evening was alive with nostalgia as former castmates reconnected, shared memories, and relived the magic of the SJR Performing Arts program. The bond created through shared experiences on stage was palpable, showcasing the deep friendships and camaraderie that have long been hallmarks of the program.

An Unforgettable Highlight

The pinnacle of the night came when alumni joined the 2024 cast on stage to perform the iconic number, "One Day More." This electrifying collaboration between past and present performers created an unforgettable moment that left everyone in awe and will be cherished for years to come.

The Legacy of Les Misérables

Over the last 32 years, the St. Joe’s Theater Arts program has gone far beyond high school productions. It has:

  • Fostered growth in students as performers and individuals.
  • Built enduring friendships that last long after graduation.
  • Created a sense of community and unity within the Les Misérables cast that stands out among all the productions.

The timeless story of Les Misérables continues to touch the hearts of everyone involved, embodying themes of compassion, resilience, and unity that align with the spirit of SJR.

The Les Misérables Award

In honor of this legacy, St. Joe’s has introduced the "Les Misérables Award"—a scholarship awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding character both on and off the stage. This award ensures that the values and spirit of Les Misérables live on, inspiring future generations of performers at St. Joe’s.
