This Week in SJR Lacrosse

Nashville Trip-The Saint Joseph Regional High School Lacrosse team flew out of Laguardia Airport Thursday morning and headed out to Nashville, Tennessee. The team stayed across the street from Vanderbilt University, and even had a practice on their field after the flight. During their four day and three night stay, the team engaged in a lot of activities and had two game-scrimmages. Some “extra-curricular” activities included line-dancing, trolley tours of the city, and dinner at the famous Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse.

Father Ryan-The first action that the team saw this year was against the Irish of Father Ryan High School (Nashville, Tennessee). The Green Knights played a well rounded game and everyone got in. The game ended with a victory for St. Joe’s, 10-4.

Mccallie School-St. Joe’s matched up with the reigning state champs in the state of Tennessee, Mccallie School. By this point, the Tennessee high school lacrosse season was in full swing, and Mccallie was ranked as the number one team in the state. They had not lost a game in Tennessee, but St. Joe’s played very well with a balanced attack. The final score was 8-3 in favor of the Green Knights.
