SJR Awarded Grant from ExxonMobil Educational Alliance

Montvale -- Saint Joseph Regional High School has been awarded a $500 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program for 2020. Martin '80 and Brian '82 Gallagher, of Chestnut Ridge Exxon Tigermarket in Montvale, worked with school officials to secure the grant, which was made possible by funding from ExxonMobil Corporation.

This year nearly $2 million in grants was made available across the country to local schools nominated by ExxonMobil retailers. This is the twentieth year in a row that the Gallaghers have secured grants from ExxonMobil for local schools.

“We are committed to supporting schools in our community. Securing grants through this program is one of the ways that we do that,” said Martin Gallagher. “St. Joe’s provides an excellent learning environment and it continually reinvests in new technology and programs for students. This grant will help the School do even more.”

Both Gallaghers, as well as four other members of their family, are alumni of St. Joe’s.

President Kevin McNulty '78 was grateful. "We will use this grant to further enhance the school’s math and science programs."

The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to provide Exxon and Mobil retailers the opportunity to support the efforts of deserving schools in their communities. ExxonMobil believes that, as members of their communities, local retailers and educators are best qualified to identify neighborhood schools and programs most worthy of support.

Chestnut Ridge Exxon Tigermarket has met stringent eligibility criteria before applying for and being awarded these grants, including having been recognized for a commitment to providing a superior buying experience for customers.
