Frosh Donnelly Scholars Earn AP Status

September of 2020 was the beginning of an historical school year for a number of reasons. Covid-19 protocol notwithstanding, perhaps the most lasting impact on the future of the school was the introduction of the Donnelly Scholars program.

The Barry J. Donnelly '71 Scholars program was created to challenge the highest achieving students through perhaps the most rigorous four-year curriculum the school has ever offered.

To that end, the group of 11 became the first freshmen in school history to take AP World History and excelled at the AP exam in the spring.

As a group, they scored 13% higher than the global average, with nine students scoring high enough to earn potential college credit - as high school freshmen.

The group will continue on their AP track, taking AP U.S. History I as sophomores and will build on their success as juniors and seniors as well.

The Class of 2025 Donnelly Scholars are set to take Mr. Nick DeVito's AP World History in the fall and the test in the spring of 2022.
