On Monday Deacon Joe Sisco and the SJR UNICO chapter collected candy for the VA hospital in Paramus.

Throughout the month of October students brought candy to be given to the hospital. Deacon Joe said this is the most candy the school has ever collected. There is enough candy for each veteran and all the nurses at the hospital to get multiple pieces to a total of 236 people in the VA hospital. In addition to all of the people in the VA there was enough candy to give to underprivileged children in Paterson,

In all, there were 8 cases for the children and additional 4 cases sent to the ST letters foodbank.

Unico has more opportunities for students to get involved in the month of November. Deacon Joe is running a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit the Father English Center. There are 20,000 people at the center who need to be fed and SJR will do its part to help them. There will also be a frozen ziti drive in November.
