All seniors will receive a custom graduation lawn sign. We will let you know when these will be available for pick-up.

 

Senior Awards  – This year’s Senior Awards will take place on Thursday, May 30th at 7pm. Awards recognizing achievements and excellence in the areas of athletics and extracurricular activities will be presented at this time. A letter will be sent to those seniors and their families receiving recognition.  All other seniors and their families are welcome to attend. Shirt & tie required.

 

Baccalaureate Mass – The Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Friday, May 31st at 7pm. Students are expected to attend and wear a shirt and tie. Yearbooks will be distributed after mass.

 

Commencement Exercises – Saturday, June 1st at 9am.
 
  • Each graduate may have two guests to sit with them on the field and up to 10 guests to join us in the bleachers.
  • Grooming – graduating seniors must follow the school dress code for this final, formal occasion. Students must be clean-shaven and must have their hair cut in a fashion that adheres to the dress code. Students cannot wear earrings. Please make sure that your son does not embarrass himself by requiring us to make an issue of his appearance with you before the ceremony begins. Since you will have the gown for several days before the ceremony, please hang it up to eliminate any conspicuous wrinkles.
  • Taking pictures – since the commencement exercises are a family celebration, we attempt to maintain a formal, yet relaxed climate throughout. Please be aware, however, of the movement of graduates around you and the needs of other families. The ceremony will be being livestreamed as well; please be aware of the placement of those cameras.  Livestream link to follow.
  • Time for graduates to arrive (report to the theater): no later than 8am.
  • Rain date for graduation is Sunday, June 2nd at 9am

 

Diplomas and Final Report Cards may be picked up after graduation.

 

SJR Google Accounts:
  • School email addresses and Google drives will be deleted on Monday, July 8, 2024. (This includes all emails and Google Drive data. Any files or emails students wish to save from their school Google account will need to be moved prior to July 8th as there will be no access after that date.)
  • Students should plan accordingly and migrate any files they would like to keep from their school G-drive to another NON-SCHOOL Gmail account.
  • The school issued Chromebook will be deprovisioned on July 8th as well (1).
ANY STUDENT NEEDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PRIOR TO ACCOUNT DELETION SHOULD CONTACT MR. CIANCIA OR MS. SULLIVAN. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS/EXTENSIONS TO THE DELETION DATE.
 
 
Chromebooks
Insurance and Repairs
  • Please be aware that the accidental insurance policy will expire in August.  
  • Any student w/ insurance who has accidental damage to their Chromebook and wishes to have it repaired should bring it to the Media Center before June 1st along with the $25 repair fee. This will allow enough time for it to be repaired and returned. 

 

(1) Deprovision and Donation
  • Chromebooks will be deprovisioned* over the summer meaning they will no longer be managed by SJR.  Students can then sign into their Chromebook using any Gmail account
  • If the student no longer has a need for their Chromebook, please consider donating it bacm to the school. We would be happy to refurbish these and donate them to schools who are less fortunate.  
 
* A deprovisioned Chromebook needs to be restarted in order for it to work. It will no longer be managed by SJR and students can sign in with any google account. If restarting doesn't work (and 90% of the time it does) it may be necessary to wipe the device. To do so:
  • PressEsc +  + Power. 
  • PressCtrl + D to begin dev mode, then Enter.
  • PressCtrl + D. The Chromebook deletes its local data, returning to its initial state. This takes approximately 15 minutes.

Failing Grade
Students will be informed if they have failed any subjects for the year. Any failures must be completed in an accredited summer school program by August 31st in order for the student to receive his Saint Joseph Regional High School diploma.
