The Award Winning Performing Arts Program will present Neil Simon’s hilarious comedy “Rumors.” “Rumors” revolves around a dinner party where the host is accidently shot before his guests arrive. As couples show up for the party, each one tries to cover up what’s happening and in so doing, uncovers issues in their own lives and their relationships with each other.

The award-winning Performing Arts Program of Saint Joseph Regional High School, performed the Northeast Regional Premier of Ordinary People in April 2016 in the Inserra Theater.

The best-selling book by Judith Guest, which was later made into the movie that won the Academy Award for Best Picture, will be performed by boys from St. Joe’s and girls from various high schools throughout Bergen County. Ordinary People is a 1980 American drama that concerns the disintegration of an upper-middle class family in Lake Forest, Illinois, following the death of one of their sons in a boating accident. The story deals with family conflict, survivor guilt, suicide and the healing power of therapy.
